Lenovo S10-3t 0651-37U 10.1-Inch Multitouch Netbook (Black) Review

Lenovo S10-3t 0651-37U 10.1-Inch Multitouch Netbook (Black)
I purchased one mainly for working on the fly. I did upgrade the RAM and OS, added MS Office 2007 with OneNote and am very happy with the results. Touch sensitivity is great. Keyboard is nice size and responsive. The key pad takes a little getting used to as I am always tempted to use two fingers which results in jumps, but I’ve gotten past that and it is responsive. Video and voice recording are definitely sufficient for my purposes, though audio playback (as noted elsewhere) isn’t very good through the speakers. The only input issue is the rim around the screen which can make it tough to close application windows with a touch.

Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch White Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch White Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
I purchased my Lenovo S10-2 in April ‘09. I’ve found it to be surprisingly useful. At home I use it extensively to surf the net and keep up on email. I no longer carry my larger laptop back and forth to work. I’ve loaded the little S10 with all of the same software as I use on my primary computer (MS Office Professional, Visio, Project, Adobe, etc.). It’s only a little slow to load the applications and works great in a pinch. I’d make it my primary computer, but the screen is too small and scrolling back and forth all day can be tiring. Still, it’s very handy for travel or when I don’t want to carry my larger laptop. It fits easily in my carry on and add about the same weight as a book. Keep in mind you’ll need also carry an external drive if you want to watch DVDs.

Lenovo S10-2 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery (Windows XP Home) Review

Lenovo S10-2 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery (Windows XP Home)
This netbook is a winner.
Lenovo completely reengineered their prior version (S10) into a smaller, better product.
This little beast has it all.
It is compact, thin, and light.
Yet, it can do the business.
I’ve had mine for two weeks already.
Setting it up was fast and easy for me.
I chose this Lenovo with Windows XP, rather than the Samsung GO with Windows 7 (LIGHT); because Windows XP allows more user specific modifications that that darn Windows 7 (LIGHT).
Heck, you can’t even change the desktop screen on Windows 7 (LIGHT).
This little Lenovo S10-2 is slimmer, faster, lighter, but more powerful than its predecessor.
I’ve taken two trips and the lighter laptop bag was just one improvement over my bigger but heavier ThinkPad or its companion 13″ HP.
I bought a 2GB RAM upgrade and installed in in under five minutes.
My Lenovo S10-2 immediately recognized it, and became even faster than it was.
I would make only two minor changes, if it were left up to me.
I would have installed the 2GB RAM direct from the factory.
Most people upgrade it anyway.
I would have built it with a WiFi that recognized b/g/n, rather than teh way it comes.
It only recognizes WiFi b/g.
But, those are minor preferences and not complaints.
And, as usual, Amazon pricing (without the greedy, confiscatory state taxes) is just sweeter icing on this slice of cake!
In the end, I recommend this machine to anyone looking for portability, serviceability, reliability, and enjoyability!
This product delivers all that Lenovo promises and more!

Lenovo IdeaPad S10e Netbook Review

I bought mine in White. I took out the Amazon credit card and got 30 bucks off. I had spent nigh on a month trying to get this decision right. I sold my Asus EEE 901 for 280 and got this for 260 all in.

This machine is a panacea to portable computing needs. I upgraded the ram, but that’s not really necessary… I use it with home broadband, airport broadband and a Verizon USB broadband connection and it goes like hell.

Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

Lenovo S10-2 10-Inch Black Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
I purchased the Lenovo S10-2 Black Netbook from TigerDirect through Amazon several weeks ago. From the moment you open the box, you know you’ve bought a quality product. Please note the picture shown during the writing of this review is of the old S10 and not the S10-2. The computer is sleek and very light. The screen is amazing!! As a self proclaimed gadget geek, as always I research and research before purchasing a product. For the price and what you get, you won’t get a better value on a netbook. Connecting to my wireless network was seemless. Did I mention how light it was? I am now the envy of all my co-workers who now want one,LOL. Go buy one, you won’t be dissapointed.
