MSI U123-033US 10.2-Inch Netbook - Blue Review

MSI U123-033US 10.2-Inch Netbook - Blue
I fell into must have mode upon seeing this item in blue and knowing
MSI made a red casing I instantly questioned them via their site. Much to
my disappointment I got nowhere fast, after almost two hours on the phone
listening to a recording of “somebody will be with you shortly” I gave up on that route. Finally got somebody from MSI to respond almost instantly via email, again only disappointing me. He offered very little assistance in telling me what I wanted to hear, and was very generic in telling me that MSI did not customize.

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

Samsung NC10-11GP 10.2-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
Owned my NC10 about year now. It was shipped to me with a somewhat annoying manufacture defect (google for “nc10 lcd blotches”) I lived with it but just before the warranty ran I decided to get it fixed. The Samsung web site for opening a service request really sucked (it had bugs and did not work no matter which browser I tried to use) however there was option to chat with a service rep and they were great. Opened a ticket for me. Emailed me shipping label. I shipped my laptop in (Samsung paid both ways) and a week later got it back with LCD replaced. It is in great shape now. Very glad I went with Samsung for the warranty service. btw: The LCD defect only affected early units shipped in late 2008.

Samsung NC10-14GW 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, 6 Cell Battery, XP Home) White Review

Samsung NC10-14GW 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, 6 Cell Battery, XP Home) White
I’ve been using the NC-10 for about 2 months and I must say that this little computer was really a nice aquisition for a number of reasons.
1- Well built, light weight and nice look
2- good battery life: using for internet surfing with wi-fi for around 5-6 hours
3- Really nice keyboard: good touch feeling, easy do get used, almost the desktop size.
Of course there are the two known problems: the bright outside finish that get covered by finger prints and the small touchpad. I found no solution to avoid the finger prints on the nice bright blue cover… beauty comes with a price. But the infinite scroll feature (making continuous clockwise rotation on the touchpad after using the scroll side of it) can be used to compensate its size.

MSI Wind U123-002US 10.2-Inch Red Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

MSI Wind U123-002US 10.2-Inch Red Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
I can’t believe that all the parts (screen, CPU, RAM, hard disk, keyboard, Windows license, etc), plus all the shipping (parts go to China and back, and then from Amazon to me) still only costs me 6. It’s a real bargain, AFAIAC.

I ordered another 1 GB SODIMM of RAM to upgrade, but realized that there’s only one slot on the inside, which already had 1 GB. You’ll have to buy a 2 GB stick and throw away the existing 1 GB stick to get to 2 GB.

Velocity Micro Notemagix M10 Gx 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Blue Review

Velocity Micro Notemagix M10 Gx 10.2-Inch Netbook (1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, XP Home, 6 Cell Battery) Blue
I bought this to have something on the go that can last a long time and it does that. I did have problems trying to get online, but function F1 fixed that right up for me. Besides that getting used to the smaller keyboard takes all of an hour or so. As for the speed, its quick enough. Just wondering if upgrading the speed will be worth it on this little guy. Long story short, it looks good, the case is nice and it came quick. Thanks.

MSI Wind U123-001US 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery Review

MSI Wind U123-001US 10.2-Inch Blue Netbook - 6 Cell Battery
” A very nice product for the price and for what it aims to do. The case is solid, the display is fine, though the height of the screen affects some types of online reading. The battery lasts long enough for my needs. I get about two hours of life from it. It’s light and easy to carry around. It’s a great unit for writing on your own somewhere or bringing to a meeting. If you’re looking for a light, portable way to get on the Internet, check e-mail, surf web sites, and to do basic office functions, this works really well. I like the fact that it has VGA out and USB ports. I don’t think it would work for me as my only computer, but as a supplemental computer, it occupies a useful niche.
