Acer AOD250-1633 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Acer AOD250-1633 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I bought my acer aspire one with Windows 7 starter but no android.
(The aspire one d250 is a great product.)
So I downloaded a (free) android.iso from [w android-x86 org] and stuck it on a bootable 4GB USB stick.
Now I’ve got a google phone on my netbook (well nearly).
Running the iso in Oracle’s (Sun’s) Virtuabox emulator means it will run under Windows as well - no USB stick needed.

HP Mini 110-1125NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

HP Mini 110-1125NR 10.1-Inch Black Netbook - Up to 8 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I bought this computer for my wife. It came with Windows 7 Starter. I installed Microsoft Office and have been very pleased with the performance of the machine with 1 GB of memory. It is basically a machines for web surfing and some light duty software. It is very portable and convenient. I installed Skype and was able to get everything working in less than 1/2 hour. There is one minor irritation with the power supply jack. It will lose contact if you move the computer just very slightly. I am going to call HP and find out whether this is a defect on my machine.

Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Sony VAIO VPC-W121AX/T 10.1-Inch Brown Netbook - Up to 7 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
This is the newest model (W211AX) of Sony’s Netbooks and has a extended battery life. While others may complain of the battery- I like the fact that it elevates the netbook up towards you. Depending on the surfing you do- you may have a bit less battery life than advertised. I ordered the pink Vaio and couldn’t be more pleased. It was everything I expected it to be and then some. The Track pad is reasonably sized and much larger than most. The screen clarity is amazing. My only complaint is where the speakers are situated for the volume. I simply resolved this issue on my own and use my ipod head phones when listening to sound. To the lower right of screen you may also adjust zoom level. Your options are 100, 125, and 150. If you do increase the zoom level- You do loose a bit of viewing and must scroll from side to side. The keyboard buttons are a bit elevated and makes it easier for typing. The only other downfall that I could say would be that the netbook only comes with Windows 7 Starter. With this program starter version you are unable to change desktop background. Bummer… I love that I can install my SD card and download my photos too. Perfect for web surfing, downloading pics, typing, emails, etc.
AMAZING LITTLE NETBOOK!!!!!!!!
SONY CONTINUES TO IMPROVE THEIR APPEARANCE, MODELS INTERIOR, AND STAND BY THE SONY NAME WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!

Toshiba Mini NB205-N325PK 10.1-Inch Posh Pink Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Toshiba Mini NB205-N325PK 10.1-Inch Posh Pink Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I have loved this netbook. The battery life is great, the appearance of the netbook is great. I love the textured cover. I got it in chocolate brown. It’s a great color. I think it’s very easy to type on, and the portability is great. It fits into my purse with no problem. I am not that knowledgable as far as the specifics of any computer, but I have found no problems working this computer. It runs quickly, even after I installed the whole Microsoft Office system. I would definitely recommend this netbook to anyone. It is easy to use, great in appearance, and very portable.

ASUS 10.1″ Eee PC 160GB Netbook Computer with Windows XP Home - Midnight Blue (1005HA) Review

ASUS 10.1" Eee PC 160GB Netbook Computer with Windows XP Home - Midnight Blue (1005HA)
I got this netbook back in july, wanted to give it some time before writing a review on the item. So, here goes…
After opening the box and charging the 1005hab for the specified time in the manual,I was finally ready to fire it up. 1st, the case is a magnet for fingerprints, but overall fit and finish seems nice. Startup and seting up the netbook for first use was very easy, no more than 20 minutes and I was already connected to my network in my home. Wireless is great, built in n speeds was nice for a 0 netbook, My router is in my basement and I can get 75% strength on the 1st floor at the other end of the house, 2nd floor has ok signal so overall very good. The touch pad for me is not the greatest, just trying to move the pointer around with it sometimes goes into a scrolling effect rather than the mouse moving, and the left anf right buttons don’t always seem to register every click. Got a bluetooth mouse and solved those issues. Keyboard took a little getting used to due to the size, also the size of the screen makes viewing some documents and web pages tough, I have to be wearing my glasses to see the screen clearly, i use a 22″ monitor on my home computer so i can get away with no glasses with that, not the netbook though. But then if I wanted something that was big and easy to read, i would have bought a full size laptop. Hard drive storage is good at 140ish GB free out of the box. Lets talk battery… where did they get 4+ hours of life from this thing? I haven’t timed it out to see for sure but it’s more like 2-3 hours depending on what your doing with it. it may stretch out to 3.5 before shutting down from low power but i just charge it before that anyway. Students couldn’t get through a school day on a single charge. The processor power is good for what it is. I use it for mostly internet and I design and maintain a few websites with macromedia software, so its great to bring with me when going to meet up with people to talk sites. Fits inside my motorcycle side case with ease. I also bought a 2GB memory chip but saw very little diffence with it. If your running that many memory hogging programs that you really need to upgrade the netbook, you probably should have bought a fullsize laptop with a faster processor. changing the chip was very easy though, 1 screw and a little cover on the bottom comes right off.
Overall if you want a compact, easy to use computer to take with you for email, word documents and some picture editing software, or just to browse the internet, I’d say this is for you, if your going to be editing video or mutlitasking larger programs, you might want to think laptop

Toshiba Mini NB205-N330WH 10.1-Inch Frost White Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Toshiba Mini NB205-N330WH 10.1-Inch Frost White Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I ordered a mini NB205 with atom N280 Intel processor. It has 250G hard drive, built in web camera, several USB2 slots, an SD slot for the digital camera card, a full size keyboard, runs Win 7 starter, and is black, for about 0. I have had it for 2 months, and have been traveling most of that time, though I had a week to set it up before we left. I am very satisfied with it, especially it portability and functionality. I don’t do graphics-intensive stuff. I do WiFi email, some web surfing, Office stuff, Skype, some Bible software, and save my pictures. The only thing I am not very satisfied with is the sound quality of Skype calls, but I expected that based on reviews I read before buying it. Probably I would be happy with a headset, but then my wife cannot join the conversation with grandchildren. I still have well over 200G of space on my HD. I charge it for an hour or so in the morning after I get up, and that is usually enough for use throughout the day. I have had not problems with it. I figured out how to load software from DVDs via my laptop which is part of my home network. I have not noticed any limitations with the OS; my other PCs run XP. I recommend it for anyone who has a similar use profile.

Toshiba Mini NB205-N325PK 10.1-Inch Posh Pink Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

Toshiba Mini NB205-N325PK 10.1-Inch Posh Pink Netbook - 9 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I’m a real desktop fan and never used a laptop much unless forced to. Things haven’t changed since I bought the Toshiba netbook but this fills a need of mine. It’s great when I travel and want to surf the web and check email. It takes up much less room than a laptop and the battery really does last nine hours! A great investment for my needs

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA-MU17-PI 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter) Review

ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1008HA-MU17-PI 10.1-Inch Pink Netbook - 6 Hours of Battery Life (Windows 7 Starter)
I decided to purchase this one because it met and exceeded my requirements for a NETBOOK. The specs on this baby match up better than most. Great keyboard and mouse, keys feel great, wireless n, fast boot, upgradeable from 1GB to 2GB, user friendly ASUS Bios updater interface, Microsoft works, lightweight. You must understand first the context of my statement. I wanted a NETbook. Not a Laptop. I didnt want an “ultimate” or Professional” version of ANYTHING running on this NETbook. I wanted it to be lean and mean. I wanted a small, powerful, convenient AND FAST NETbook for casual surfing and email. If you wanted more, your in the wrong market. I didnt buy this to play games, edit, video, watch TV or DVD’s, etc. Like I said I didn’t want a Laptop. Windows Starter 32 bit is an excellent match for a NETbook. Think of Windows 7 Starter as just that, the place to start. I figured, if I NEED an “anytime upgrade” Ill get it. At this point, having had used it for a week, I’m not changing a thing. Less is more with a NETbook. Ill save upgrades for my LAPtop and DESKtop. From when I push the power button to my first opening click of Firefox = less than one minute. I removed some preloaded crapware, i.e. ASUS whistles and bells and some preloaded games. Added Norton Internet Security Netbook Edition, and bingo, the perfect NETbook.
